This blog entry tat im about to begin is inspired by manzy's blog on all the affordable yummy food here in brunei =D haha yesh, this is my glutton-filled blog entry xD its gonna be all about FOOD. Well in a way thanks to Zy's blog =), i have come to apperciate brunei food and my parent's cooking...well i mean i do appreciate them but i always take them for granted...now tat i think of it,if i move overseas one day after i finish schoolin here..i wont be able to taste any of these brunei yummies anytime soon =( hmm and i miss grace's mums cooking too xD omg the choco cake she baked..hahah,gila everyone finished it but thank God she saved some for us to share xD so nyaman berabis. so yeah...heres my list of fav restaurants and what i like to order there =)

oh wait b4 that..hahah,i wud like to apologise to Burt for over-reacting. Its just tat ever since i lost my net and computer..i cudnt keep in touch with everyone and when i finally got bak..all the 'friends' i chatted with online has either deleted me, blocked me or totally forgot who i am, thou of coz my close friends (jammz,kevie..bla bla u get the idea =) ) dont forget but still...it does hurt a bit. And yes, feeling very much alienated in school is not making me feel any better...i feel like my social life is..gone? SAD..thou i am making better progress but still, that feeling of emptiness is there. Sigh. i am so not anti-social just...having difficultiessss >.< oh and burt..hahah,the fact that i feel like i've lost you as a friend hurts even more becoz you are one of the important figures in my life. You're the first teacher i ever got close to the point we have become friends and even go on outings before =) so tat means alot to me...and the fact that you seem to make me understand maths a lil better is MIRACULOUS. LOL. well,enough said =)

TEO PHOI HOON (TPH in short) @ QLAP (halal chinese restaurant)
their kolomee is the friggin BEST! and they come in so many varieties to choose frm the normal kolomee, the seafood kolomee to exotic kolomee like OSTRICH kolomee. They also have kick-ass drinks with fancy names, such as 'summer love' which is a tropical tutti-frutti drink with salt spread on the rim of the glass =D well..uhm im not sure if its called summer love...hmm *tries to remember* lol~oh well u get the idea =P hahah below is a pic of one of the drinks i ordered at TPH,a strawberry milkshake with bits of strawberry jello inside =D haha,cute isnt it? the fish bottle tat they serve it in..btw,plz ignore the nutcase behind d bottle xD HAHAHAH


HAPPY UNION RESTAURANT @ GDG (chinese, non-halal)
Their BUTTERMILK CHIX RICE is the FRIGGIN BEST! the chix is just so perfectly deep-fried,and the sauce is just nice,not too sweet or thick. and omg,they give so much chix! hahah! sometimes i cant even finish..they're definately not stingy =) and they serve this drink tat i always will order whenever i dine there, which is the teh c special. Sure,other places do have this drink too but theirs is waaaayyyyy nicer. n their steamed fish with ginger and herbs..is sooo awesome too,but very expensive(well it depends on what type of fish u order,whether u want to pick the fresh,live ones outta the fish tank or the 'kept-in-fridge-type'=p,and how big..my dad ordered a live one tat costed arnd $100+ for my mums bday dinner =) and it was very very GOOD). but oh well,its so tasty tat its worth it! =)

THIAM HOCK RESTAURANT @ GDG (chinese, non-halal)
Their curry fish is the BEST, and i love their japanese deep-fried tofu..theres absolutely no other restaurant tat can beat the yumminess of their tofu! XD their BUTTERCHIX RICE n SPICY CHIX RICE is also VERY VERY VEERYYYY tasty. the most popular and unique dish they have would be the CRISPY KAILAN..yes,they deep fry the kailan (its a veggie!) and the kailan becomez crispy,yet still retainin its juicyness xD Oh godddd...feel hungry now! And during familiy dinners held here,my dad wud always order their CRISPY PORK LEG...and omg,i didnt think i wud like pork leg,but it just taste sooooo good. Plus they give this special sauce to eat together with this dish..and it totally further compliments the yumminess of this dish!

PONDOK SERI EMPAT LAUT/SHIKAI RESTAURANT..i think,cant remember the name, @ BATU BERSURAT (chinese,halal)
OMG..the best DUCK RICE in BRUNEI is here! their duck doesnt have tat 'smelly duck smell' to it xD hahah~their herbal roasted duck is to DIE FOR..its so yummy! the sauce is so yummy! even the friggin taugay tat goes together with this dish tastes so nice! their pipah/pipa duck,however u spell it *_*, taste friggin good too,thou not as juicy and aromatic as the herbal one. uhm...lets see,oh yeah my dad loves to eat their crispy fried bee hoon..it is tasty but they tend to give too much sauce which upsets my dad xD hahah! this place is certainly a MUST TRY for duck lovers! i know i love it xD

Cafe de Paris, @ GDG
This restaurant opens up till really late. Uhm..so far,all their dishes are ok...but what i like the most is their dimsum,available at any hour ^_^ coolness hahah..siumai,hakkau,chunkin,paikut...my goodness,been so long since i had dimsum!

C.A MOAHAMAD @ YAYASAN (indian/malay)
their mee mamak is the bessssssst! enough said. got to know and love it by pamela bak in form3 =) hahah,dined there often bck then..and thou i havnt tried their roti canai,roti telur n other roti2 things xP,im sure they're just as good.

Best chix rice in Brunei! =) haha and no,im not sucking up to kevie xP but it is gooood. i love their beehoon laksa too..and their fishball tanghoon soup ^_^ hahah

Their pasta with cheese..is mouth-watering. I cant remember the exact name of the pasta dish tat i tried,but i do remember its taste...xtremely cheesy,perfect sauce...ahh~its been years,seriously, tat i havent step foot into Chills. Sigh..might do so soon...anyone wanna tag along? =P i miss havin their sex on the beach...hahah,the name of this drink itself is effin sexxxxy xD there are other interestin drinks too like their 'poison ivy'.

Their baked cheesy chix rice is the best dish! haha all thanks to AJ for introducing it xD i love their butterscotch ice-cream too...ooooh xD

Escapade Sushi
I love everything here,except the snails/escargot xD YUCK..i cant stand the taste...but i love the other 'weird' stuff like the baby octopus,the seaweed...and i am soo effing in love with their SOFT SHELLED CRAB..if u havnt tried it..oh God,you dunno wat ure missing out! cheers to Grace for telling me bout it ^_^

they have this philedelphia CHEESE sushi which is effing awesome! not to mention the chefs there are..cute xD HEHEHEHE but nah,just lookin. im loyal to Yong >=)

hehe..here was where i found out my love for cheese,thanks to zy xD i didnt know i love cheese so much and i didnt know cheese was so loveable xD HAHAHAH..i soo love their cheezy wedges..and their cheesy meltz too! i definately miss their waikiki burger..its so tasty. maybe they should bring it bak T.T

I so love their crispy chix burger..its really so crispy (duh xP),and the sauce tat goes along is great as well. their cheesy fries is so damnnnn good too,their french fries are always so crispy. hahaha..i soo blame ivy for always mentionin abt how much she loves tat burger XP...then when i finally tried it myself i got hooked onto it right away.

the only sucky fucky thing bout this place is tat the owner's daughter happens to be the korean slut frm SGS b4..eeew. i hope she doesnt like, masturbate in the kitchen or watever HAH. well i love the free kimchi tat they serve here ^_^ and i so love their gimbap,which basically looks n taste like sushi,but with a more powerful fragrant. i so love their cheese gimbap. and if ure a regular customer here...they serve alcoholic beverages as well =X HEHEHE =3 been meanin to bring grace here since she watches tat korean drama stuff xD hahah~

PANTAI RESTAURANT @ EMPIRE HOTEL
hahah..classy eh xD their burgers n fries..so HUGE LA. seriously,even for a big eater like me..i cant even finish half of it xD hahaha! and they even come with a side dish of salad with pitless black olives and salad oil tat is soooo uber yummy! and the fun part is u can eat it at the poolside bar,which is partially submerged in the pool,duh. lol~thou it was so embarassin when i dropped an olive into the pool >.< thank God no one saw!


Mums cooking that i love:-
has anyone ever noticed how a mothers cookin is always PERFECT? hahhah. tats how i feel. i so love my mum's special DEEP FRIED CHEESE PUFF,her own invented recipe which is genious man..her steaks are awesome too..and oh God,everything she cooks is wonderful. i love her way of frying bacon-with green peppers n onions,its really simple yet so tasty. and once,she baked a honeycomb cake and its the best man,wayyyy better than the junk of a cake they sell at supermarkets ^_^

Dads cooking tat i love:-
his infamous chilli crab..tat i keep pestering him about xP hahaha. seriously,i think cooking crab is strictly a guy thing. i,as a woman-to be =P,will not lay a finger on those things while they're alive! so its up to the men to prepare the crabby things,haha pardon the pun,and cook them as well =P i love his indian-stlye curried veggie too,must remember to get the recipe frm him =D his juicy,fat,ridiculously humongous meatballs,seasoned to perfection with herbs and onion n garlic salt,is sensational. n i know he loves my shepherds pie xD haha,so many times he come home with all the ingredients and simply said 'cook' HAHAHAH xD

hmmm i miss SGS's canteen food...the curry chix rice,the fried rice..the lousy yet tasty popiah xD hahah..might go to school one day just to buy the food. Food here at PTEB is ALL WAYYYYY TOO OILY.and tats bad for my lovely skin,ehseh =P thou their egg sandwich is okkk..or maybe the fact tat i eat alone makes the food taste bland T.T sighhhh~btw i am so not anti-social..just having difficulties T.T oh wait didnt i mention tat already? T.T

so far i havnt found the best nasi katok in brunei YET! hahah,anyone knows?? there are so many nasi katok stalls everyfrigginwhere in brunei and yet most of them tat i tried didnt really cause an impact on me xD haha my god,wat a food critique i am. hmm wat else? oh yeah..i can eat lemons like as if they're oranges XD HAHAHA. seriously,i love sour fruits,not tat i dont like the sweet ones =P my mum is totally disgusted at me...the expression on her face was..oh God priceless xD it was as though she was the one eating the lemon and making those 'oh i cant stand the sourness' look HAHAH. now eating those Warheads sour candy is...boring =P thou it is still fun to watch other ppl squirm while they eat it HEHE. other than tat i can also stomach most hot stuff like Tabasco sauce, chilli padi and even WASABI..thou eventually my face gets all screwed up and sweaty when i eat too much of it xP haha once i cooked dry beef curry, i added ALOT of spice..my mum,sis and my bro--in-law were all complaining it was too spicy but me and my dad were like 'eh..not enough eh. should have added more curry powder and maybe chilli powder also eh" HAHA. i wanted to add in CAYENNE PEPPER and CAJUN thou sadly, and luckily for the my bro-in-law sis n mum xP,it was finished T.T Drats. HAhah.

Oh well...i guess thats it. now im prolly gonna whip up something to eat..so damn hungry from talkin bout food xD HAHAH
